Malcom ( Roger ) was a collaborative effort by numerous people, and was saved literally in the nick of time! Thanks to Analisa and Carolina, we were all able to come together and get him on transport to his new family on the East Coast within 24 hours! Malcom has settled in nicely with his new family, and is already being spoiled at the local Fire House with his comrades, and shares his new humans with 2 other fur siblings at home!
Backstory on Malcom...
He was picked up by Animal Control on the 23rd of February, and was placed on the Euth List 5 days later for "behavioral" issues. Anyone who has been at the shelter, knows that this environment is not very welcoming... especially for a dog of this magnitude. They are already amped up by nature, and with the stress of being in a kennel in a loud shelter for days/weeks on end, will likely expose a side that isn't pleasant. They will get even more anxious, can exhibit behavior that one wouldn't normally see ( snapping, growling, lunging, etc. ), and this can give them a bad rap sheet which can/will expedite the euthanasia process. That was the case for this boy, and once he left that environment, he was already showing the sweet side that we all love.
Like Vienna ( FKA Luna from Devore ), let this be another perfect example of how we shouldn't judge a dog by its shelter notes, because there are so many like them who never got the second chance they deserved, because nobody could see past the kennel property.

Here’s a recent picture of our boy!
